Parent Resources

It is never too soon to start learning about the importance of quality early care and education for your children, especially if you are pregnant or expecting to have children in the next few years. Quality infant and toddler programs are in high demand which can create long wait lists. Quality Counts in here to help.

Follow Quality Counts on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on family-oriented news, events, and information. Parents can also sign up for First 5 Santa Barbara County’s newsletter and membership. By joining First 5 you’ll receive the following for free:

  • The latest research and scientific guidance to support a child’s brain and social/emotional development
  • Practical tips, resources, and supplies to help children grow healthy and strong
  • We will let you know about community events, trainings, and direct support that may be available to you

Most importantly, with your membership, your voice will be added to our broader efforts to promote, build, and advocate for a powerful and effective system of support for 0-5 year olds and their families. Become a member by registering online at www.First5SantaBarbaraCounty.org

Partner with your child care provider and ask them questions about how to learn more about quality care and why it is important. There are a variety of parent-based resources in our community.  Here is a short list to get you started.
