The Community Calendars Project is the result of a collaborative effort of First 5 Santa Barbara County, the Child Care Planning Council of Santa Barbara County and various other early care and education partners who are committed to creating a “one-stop shop” for professional development activities that support the local early care workforce.
This calendar includes training, conferences, workshops, learning communities, events, and networking opportunities open to the early care and education community.

At this training for Quality Counts Santa Barbara (QCSB) Directors and their “plus one” instructional leads, Dr. Carola Oliva-Olson will present on bilingualism through the lens of child development, including the benefits of adopting and using a DLL instructional model in your ECE setting.
The INFO SESSION will focus on a new opportunity, EDUC 490 (see detailed information, here), and how it can support your site-based strategy to improve practice and outcomes using a specific model: Personalized Oral Language(s) Learning, or POLL. During the INFO SESSION portion of the day, you will learn how to apply for consideration to participate in a special in-person, 20- member QCSB cohort during the Fall/Spring 2019/20 sessions of EDUC 490.
