This training provides a refresher on the WestEd CA Teaching Pyramid Framework for new and returning teachers, administrators, and special education teams.

In this training we will introduce common preschool strategies and language used to both support social-emotional competence and to prevent challenging behavior in young children.

Topic areas to be discussed include:

• A review of the Teaching Pyramid Framework (Modules 1a, 1b, 2)
  • Mod 1a– Building positive relationships with children, families & colleagues
  • Mod 1b – Creating supportive classroom environments
  • Mod 2 – Incorporating social and emotional teaching strategies in classroom settings

• Discussion-driven recommendations on how to implement these strategies
