The Community Calendars Project is the result of a collaborative effort of First 5 Santa Barbara County, the Child Care Planning Council of Santa Barbara County and various other early care and education partners who are committed to creating a “one-stop shop” for professional development activities that support the local early care workforce.

This calendar includes training, conferences, workshops, learning communities, events, and networking opportunities open to the early care and education community.

Join us for a 1:1 reading & talk with award-winning writer Heather Lanier.

When we will embark on a journey that will walk you through her highly acclaimed memoir Raising A Rare Girl.

In this 1-hour event set to begin at 6PM, the author will focus on a parent’s perspective of raising a child with a rare disability, offer insights about what she learned, & what she wishes educators understood in order to make them effective team members when supporting families with children of different abilities.

Help your students thrive through a strengths-based lens
& learn ways to reframe disability as an aspect of diversity.
