ECE Training Calendar
The Community Calendars Project is the result of a collaborative effort of First 5 Santa Barbara County, the Child Care Planning Council of Santa Barbara County and various other early care and education partners who are committed to creating a “one-stop shop” for professional development activities that support the local early care workforce.
This calendar includes training, conferences, workshops, learning communities, events, and networking opportunities open to the early care and education community.

Dual Language Learner Series – English

Begins Saturday, September 25th through Saturday, November 20th from 8-10am via Zoom. We meet every other Saturday for five sessions.
Can be used for the Dual Language Learner Pathways with the Workforce Pathways Stipend Program.
Instructor Anna A. Arambula-Gonzalez
- Participants will reflect on their own cultural background, history, and experiences related to culture and language, focusing on essential anti-bias concepts and innovative methods for teaching in early learning settings with young dual language learners/multilingual learners.
- Participants will learn about the rationale for supporting young dual language learners, individualizing language supports, and collaborating with families.
- Participants will learn about the science of dual language learning: the importance of supporting children’s culture, home languages, and English language development as we ensure equitable access and effective participation in daily learning experiences using the Personalized Oral language(s) Learning Strategies (POLL) Strategies.
